Every Planet We Reach Is Dead.
OK! I know the people crave a new update in the life of Maki, and I am here to satisfy that craving. I will even do it in easy-to-read bullet point format because, well, that's the least creative way to convey a lot of information and it's 2am and I'm just not in the mood to do anything other than list facts. This is a Friday in the life of Maki!
- Arrive at work at 8am.
- Plan to take short day and leave at 11:30am to go to the Y to workout and generally enjoy life for an afternoon immediately thereafter.
- End up leaving work at 7:30pm instead. SEVEN THIRTY PM. You read that correctly.
- Have cute Firehouse cashier girl attempt to pick me up during my 20-minute lunch break around 1pm.
- At least she put my name in as "Superman" for my order. Too bad she works at Firehouse Subs.
- Did I mention that I left work 8 hours after I was supposed to?
- Did I mention that I reached triple-digit hours for my timecard? No, I'm not on a three-week pay period.
- Met up with a group of friends for dinner and it was really what I needed after one of my longer workdays, um, ever.
- Drank a couple very tall glasses of Guinness and was quite refreshed.
- Finally saw PK's new ride. Even got to ride in it (more on that later.)
- Got to watch the Olympic opening ceremonies with some of next week's dodgeball opponents.
- Drank every time a country had less than 5 or more than 50 Olympians.
- Wondered how Iranians practice for Winter Olympics events (like every single other person watching the Olympics wondered.)
- Went to the bar (finally.)
- KitKat will be pleased, I actually met Katrina, who I was convinced up until now was a rumor made up by people.
- She told me I don't qualify as living on the Westside of Jacksonville because I live in Avondale and she lives, um, farther west.
- Found out one of my dodgeball teammates lives literally 4 blocks from me.
- Agreed to disagree with Miss Katrina. My point still stands that it takes us almost 45 minutes to get out to any decent bars in this city.
- Everyone made plans to head to the Atlantic.
- Got to ride in PK's new vehicle, after which we parked in the proper place to walk to the Atlantic.
- We never made it to the Atlantic.
- I got to drive a really nice Acura MDX around for a bit.
- People in the know will connect the dots and figure out what happened between those last three statements.
- Those last four statements will explain why I'm home (on the WESTSIDE, thank you) at 2am...
- Driving to Orlando tomorrow and taking 4 people with me.
- Driving to Orlando next weekend and taking 2 people with me.
- I just want to sleep for like 48-96 hours. Straight.
- My body and everything else going on these days refuses to let me do that.
- Sorry to anyone I didn't get to spend more time with tonight.
- I'm still wearing the clothes I put on at 7:30am this morning.
- I still haven't stopped listening to Massive Attack since Liz mentioned them.
- Except to listen to the song that titled this post.
- Next week will be better.
- Next week will be better.
- Next week will be better.
- Three times is a promise.
PPS: Have a great weekend, everyone.

I'm so glad your worlds finally collided! I almost went out with said Katrina last night too, but alas, I was sleepy.
I can't take sides on the Westside issue. I don't have any concept of any part of town west of me.
Sleepy? I know the feeling. Our worlds collided, briefly. Next time I'll get to hang out with her for more than 45 seconds or so. Maybe.
I'm thinking my brain might have exploded if both of you guys were there, so maybe it's better you ended up staying at home.
I'm so glad you met Katrina.
Now to find out what Maki is like in person...
Although there was no Maki present last night, I did have the honor of meeting PK and Robin. I got that going for me. I'm starting to feel like I'm in the loop!
Word ver. - nottneg, as in "I'm nottneg, you're an egg!"
Did you guys go to the hockey game? I would have been there if I wasn't in Orlando right now. And I'll be here next weekend, too. One day I will relax and have a normal weekend. One day.
I did not go to the hockey game, but many others in our party did. All my social coordinating is done through Katrina. She couldn't go to the game, so I didn't even know about it :)

Man, I am so jealous...I saw no mention of paint, drywall or cement in that entire post. At least you still have fun despite getting no sleep.
In Orlando, next weekend, helping me celebrate my birthday. This weekend was the worst ever, keeping me very far from my downtown hang outs, so come Friday, they will be fresh and new for me again! Can't wait!
hey net guy... how come ur blog doesn't have an rss/xml feed? Not that mine does, but I have an excuse.

Maki: 302,587 people? You've got to update that thing weekly.....
Kitkat: Do the latter three letters in your screename reflect Katrina?
PK, I go by Katie. Katrina is someone else--my very good friend. However, my full name is also Katrina, so yeah, my screename has something to do with that.
