Saturday night quickie.
Heading out, got like 20 minutes to spare, so here's a quick one for you. In thinking about why I'm so petrified of Star Wars Episode III sucking, and I've come up with a theory. It's like your friends setting up on a blind date. The first one you met was good, but it just didn't work out in the end. You had a lot of fun, though. The second one you met is still the best relationship you've had. An absolute blast from start to finish, and really the standard by which your other relationships are judged. The third one had her good points, but you just didn't have any chemistry, and she was bound to be a letdown after that awesome second girl. Then you took a long while off, not really caring to date anybody. Eventually your friends set you up with a new girl, promising that you'll love her. The fourth one weighed more than you and smelled like cabbage, making you hate your friends for even suggesting it, and then lying to your face about her. The fifth one had you distrusting your friends quite a bit, but anything was better than what you just got. You had a blast that first date, but then when you went on that second date, you suddenly saw every flaw you missed the first time around. She had nothing on that second girl you got set up with, and you just couldn't bring yourself to continue with her. You're not that desperate.
Now they've called and said there's someone you need to meet. You're incredibly skeptical, but they did set you up with that second girl, so there's always hope. Still, they set you up with that fourth and fifth girl, so they've really shaken your confidence, and you're getting desperate, since it's been a while now. You want badly to have a great time, to get something meaningful out of it. But you know what it's like to get your hopes crushed. You've had decent conversations on the phone the 2 or 3 times you've called her before going out on the real date, so your hopes are up a little bit. You've got the date set for May 19th, and the only thing you can think about it is, "please don't suck."
Drinks are waiting. Happy Saturday!
