Monday Night

Sometimes you've just got nothing. Nothing much to say about this weekend, nothing much interesting going on, nothing profound to say. Strangely enough, this song kind of fits my Monday night mood, so here you go. Took me a while to track the MP3 down, but it was worth it.

Zero 7 - Monday Night

New Zero 7 disc comes out Tuesday. Finally. Thom Yorke solo disc, Jurassic 5's Feedback and the new DJ Shadow disc in July. Summer is looking good already. This should make up for the last Chili Peppers record being another mid-tempo adult contemporary rock album, just with 28 tracks. Hopefully.

My next post will not suck so much. Honest.

Hmmm... Ya know, I've been way behind on the latest RHCP and was about to pick up their new double CD. So, are you saying it sucks ass, or is it still worth shelling out the $$ if you like the Peppers?

I was a little disapointed at the new RHCP album, the review in People compared it to Blood Sugar Sex Magik, they could not have been more wrong. If you are expecting Blood Sugar Sex Magik, you will be disapointed. Having said that, the more I listen to it the, the more I like the new album. If it can be compared to anything they have done before, it is closest to their last album By the Way.

I wouldn't say it sucks, but like Tom said, it's By The Way discs 2 and 3. if you liked that album, chances are you'll like this one. The thing about it is they'll taunt you for a few songs with a really cool, funky-sounding intro and then settle into a mid-tempo rock song. Every. Single. Time.

I guess I liked them better when they were immature. I know that on a technical and a songwriting level that they're better than they've ever been, but I listen to Blood Sugar Sex Magik and every track is incredible -- and that's not just nostalgia talking. What happened to those guys?

I know I'm in the minority, but I love One Hot Minute, too. I think Dave Navarro's presence made them more willing to try some of the stuff Jane's Addiction did with tempo and timing shifts in the middle of songs, and it works. Severely underrated album...

Californication is still atrocious, though.

Blood Sugar Sex Magic is still in my top ten rotation. I wanted to get an asterisk tattooed on m ass for years, and never did.

Your post read a little like an infomercial. What's up, Sally Struthers?

PK: Robin found out how little patience I have for waiting around, I guess.

Lindz: Y'know, I figured it was time to stop being a door-to-door salesman and get a real job. So here we are!

Lindz:Damn, you walked into that one!

Maki, I think you should moonlight as a music critic. Everything I have read about RHCP's new album goes on and on about how great it is, how they have "returned to the early days" or whatever and I think thats a bunch of crap. Your critique is dead on, now I happened to like By the Way and I like the new album, but I don't think either one bears any resemblence to their earlier stuff.

Damn, I'm soooo lucky. I still get to read shit like... "Did Robin pull a 'Tony'." Just fuckin great PK.

Still, I'm glad to see I'm not the ONLY one.
