"It's irony on a base level, but I like it."

I did my taxes this morning while watching the Bill Hicks Live DVD. Talk about a combination of tedium and entertainment all at once. Definitely some polar opposites going on there. At least now I can think about where my tax dollars are going and feel glad knowing I'll be getting some of them back, at least. Hicks really was a genius, it's a shame the 3 sets they present on the DVD have overlapping material. Rant In E-Minor is my favorite work of his -- just some absolutely hilarious stuff. I'm amazed Jay Leno shows up on the DVD after the shit Hicks talks about him in Rant. In the crappy news department, taxes still aren't done, I hate itemizing deductions. I hate paying somebody $50 to do it for me more, though. Yes, I'm a cheap bastard.

In the good news department, "Hookah: The Morning After" wasn't nearly as bad as "Aromas Cigar Bar: The Morning After." My mouth recovered fairly quickly, and I only had to down about half a bottle of Scope and not a full bottle, like I would after a night at Aromas. Kind of makes you wonder if it's worth it, though.

Yes, I'm stalling, I haven't got any fresh thoughts and nothing new to report except that I played golf today for the first time in about 10 months and I was actually pretty good at it, somehow. Probably shot around 50 for 9 holes, which is a decent feat. We forgot to grab a scorecard before heading out, so it's kind of like a presidential election, we'll never know the real count. Caz beat me down, though. Still, at this rapid rate of improvement I can go pro by the year 2817. I'm sure you'll all be there cheering me on.

Dear god, this is like a "Dear Diary" entry here. I need to have good material ready before I post. No self-deprecating humor, no horrible trivial crisis in my life, no rants comparing Star Wars prequels to bad dates with fat women, not a single reference to Al B. Sure (hey, wait...), just random crap about my day. I promise to do better next time. Really.

Oh yeah, Matt says to comment on his blog because he loves all of you. Honest. That's what he said.

you didn't capitalize the word god. one time i got in big trouble for doing that in a creative writing class. you're lucky this isn't for school.

Wanna hear something sad? I actually debated whether to capitalize it or not. Damn catholic school for 12 years... Guess I'm not on a capitalized-name basis with an abstract concept anymore.

And who says this isn't for school?

And yes, I realize I'd also get smoked in creative writing class for starting sentences with "And" all the time. I just don't care.

You're not hatin' on Aromas too much now are you?? You know I love that place, but cigars do tend to fuck your mouth up pretty good the morning after.

Just don't hate Aromas the place because I think it's a pretty cool joint to hang out in, agreed?!

Nah, Aromas is cool. You know this. I just wonder if it's worth having my mouth feel like I ate burnt wood chips for the entire day afterwards is all.

I hear ya - cigars can be a bit rough sometimes the day after. However, if you pick out just the right cigar at Aroma's, the next day doesn't have to be so bad.

Aroma's is a sweet place, though, so I am glad you still concur.
