Bride of... TAGGED.
So, it appears I have been "tagged" once again. This time it was by the lovely Kitkat, and it is the first line of each song in one's workout playlist. Since, strangely enough, I have no workout playlist (despite working out 4-5 times a week) I will go with my 20 most recently played. At least, the ones with lyrics, which it seems Miles Davis didn't tend to use. Odd, I know. Anyway, enjoy. Have fun guessing these in the comments. And no Google cheating, punks.
- "The afternoon has gently passed me by."
- "Keys cut, three for the price of one."
- "Straight in, suck up and go, cool it, swallow, swallow."
- "Many’s the time I’ve been mistaken, and many times confused."
- "Sun is up, I'm so happy I could scream."
- "I'm drunk, and right now I'm so in love with you."
- "So you been to school for a year or two and you know you’ve seen it all."
- "Lady, the tremors are my friend." (hardest one on the list)
- "The heart is a bloom, shoots up through the stony ground." (should be the easiest one on the list)
- "Goddamn you half-Japanese girls, do it to me every time."(this is like my favorite opening line of any song, ever)
- "We used to be number ten, now we permanent one."
- "And if you save yourself, you will make him happy." (much respect to whoever gets this one without googling it)
- "I sincerely miss those heavy metal bands we used to go see on the landing in the summer."
- "I think I caught my skull on the way down."
- "I was hell, sarcastic silver swell."
- " Spaceships can't tame the jungle and I feel like I'm giving in."
- "See them walking hand in hand across the bridge at midnight."
- "Clap your hands everybody, if you've got what it takes."
- "He's just a hero in a long line of heroes, looking for something attractive to save."
- "Surprise, sometimes, I'll come around."
- BONUS POINTS: "And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack."
Seriously, I want even the lurkers taking guesses here. You know who you are!

And I instantly know 21. Why is it I'm getting the really old songs??
And I almost listed a Paul Simon song too...how weird is that. But I thought "Slip Slidin Away" would kind of give it away...even more than Broken Face.:-)
Nothing wrong with The Killers, Outkast or DMB. Unless there's a BMB I've never heard of, which is entirely possible since I haven't listened to the radio in about 4 years now. Gwen, well, I'll refrain from comment. There is a DMB song on the list, if you care to guess. And it's not one of the rather crappy new ones, either. Hint #2!
Well, Holly, if you know one you're supposed to go ahead and say what it is...
"Ow! Breathe deep, take it all, it comes cheap. . ."
That is actually my favorite DMB song. And much love for some retro Duran Duran!!
Did you see on my blog I got my phat new ipod for my birthday. . .I can now fit all my music on my 20 gigger (had a mini before). SO EXCITED!
And you can tag me next. . .I have SEVERAL workout playlists :-)
Maki, I'm really terrible at this game. I don't even know why I tagged anyone--hah! I don't know any of your songs. Sorry.
But I'd highly recommend getting a workout playlist.
Oh...I am? Talking Heads/Once in a Lifetime.
Ok. I did it. Are you happy now?
Poor Kitkat--you're probably cursing me for tagging you. #2 is Star Me Kitten by REM.
Nicely done, Sarah. I'm just going to tally the score so far. If people mentioned the artist, I'm going to count it...
#2 "Star Me Kitten" by REM
#3 "Too Much" by Dave Matthews Band
#4 "American Tune" by Simon & Garfunkel
#17 "Girls On Film" by Duran Duran
#21 "Once In A Lifetime" by Talking Heads
Guess I'm going to have to give out a lot more hints. If anybody bothers to download the song in the post beneath this one, they'll get the answer to one of these...
#9 is Beautiful Day (it actually took me a while to get that one, but I got the bitter love song right away--oops). #10 is Weezer but I can't remember the name of the song.
It's "El Scorcho" and it's awesome.
Twelve is a rare Nirvana track off of the "No Alternative" album from the 90's.
Much respect, as usual.
"Verse Chorus Verse" is also one of the most sarcastic song titles ever.
mint car/the cure = #5
c'mon now that was the easiest on the list.
and wait, is #20 a typo?!?! Or did Maki incorrectly state the lyrics of Interpol's "Untitled" - a great song but I dare say that the lyric is actually "Suprise sometimes will come around"
You'd think I'd know it better, considering it's my favorite Interpol track and all. Guess I got the first line confused with the last line of the song. This is sad in itself, considering the song only has like 5 lines worth of lyrics.
I just listened to it again. It's really hard to tell which one he says the first verse, though he does say "will" the second verse. I'm just going to assume that every lyric site on the internet is wrong and I am right and he says "I'll" in the first verse.
Yes, I'll use any excuse to listen to the song again.
#19 - Liz Phair, Exile in Guyville. She's thinking he's looking for something attractive to save.

#11 would be the Fugees from The Score. Back when Wyclef mattered (he's the same age at Eminem. How do I know this?) and Laurn Hill was sane-er.
Fugee-la
Gotta love how you seem to know the albums, but the song titles? Not so much.
That review is right on point, too. It's like Liz Phair has abandoned everything that we liked about her and replaced it with everything we didn't for these last two albums.
And yes, Lauryn Hill used to tear you, me and everyone else up. Now she's certifiably batshit insane singing weak folk songs using the three guitar chords she knows and it really, really bugs me.
Hey assclown! Someone found my blog through the google search, "pictures of taints."
THANKS!
I can't help it if your readers are taint-loving deviants, dude. I am glad my readers are of a much higher caliber. I only get the ones searching for "toss salad." They end up with this. I'm sure it breaks their hearts to discover that my post was about the actual act of throwing a salad and not the sexual one.
I fucking hate the internet.
And I call myself a U2 fan--even going to see them tonight at MCI--and I miss #9. Shit.
I do admit to merely skimming the list thinking I have no chance given your anti-mainstream likes. However, like neonalune, I instantly know #21.
I'll have to study and get back to you.

That was generous to give me Girls on Film; I mean, that is the song to which I was referring and I did know it, but I didn't even tell you the number. . .but you can always trust my Duran Duran (and Pet Shop Boys) song knowlege! :-)
Ok, now go send your friends to my blog, because my friends don't like to play guess the song because they're "musically retarded."
